Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in the Angleton Independent School District. Please complete the following application. In order to facilitate the processing of your application, we must ask that the succeeding information be included:
- The application form must be accurately completed. You may include a resume with your application. However, a resume will not be accepted in lieu of an application. Please do not write "see resume" in place of any information requested on the application.
- A photocopy of your college transcript, if applicable.
- A photocopy of your teaching certificate. For first year teachers, a statement of recommendation for certification from your university can be sent in place of a teaching certificate, if available at the time of completing the application. Otherwise, please send a letter as soon as the university makes it available.
- A photocopy of your prior year's appraisal or student teaching evaluation (upon availability).
- A signed Criminal Record Release Authorization.
- Detailed references including name, title, mailing address and current telephone numbers. If you have teaching experience, please include the name of the principal(s) or immediate supervisor(s). If you are a student teacher, please include your public school supervising teacher as a reference.
- A photocopy of your Teacher Service Record.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING APPLICATION FOR A POSITION
Read carefully before starting to complete the application form.
I. General Information

Application forms are sent to all who request them regardless of existing vacancies in the departments for which preference is expressed or the number of applicants who are on file in this office. The issuance of such forms does not, therefore, imply that there are vacancies or that the candidate is under consideration for immediate appointment.

The application with all attachments becomes the property of the Angleton ISD, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. Submission of an application authorizes the school district to contact the references listed on the application, and to obtain any criminal history record information relevant to the application for employment from any pertinent source in accordance with the provisions of the Texas Education Code Section 22.083, and authorizes a law enforcement agency, including, but not limited to, any police department or the Department of Public Safety as well as the Texas Department of Corrections to furnish the school district any such record.
II. Application Form

All information requested on the application form should be filled out accurately and completely. Resumes may be included with the application but may not take the place of an application.

References are called for on the application form. Professional references are most important. Candidates who have placement files should have these forwarded.

A cover letter submitting the application should be attached to the application form. This letter should include a statement concerning reason for seeking employment with Angleton ISD.

Please keep us advised of any change of address, telephone number, name, or acceptance of employment in another district.
III. Renewals
Applications remain active until October following the filing date. If you wish to have your application kept in the active file after this time, please call or write the Human Resources Office. Inactive files are kept until the following October and then destroyed.
