Getting Ready for ECC

ELIGIBILITY
Prekindergarten:
- The child must be four on or before September 1st.
- Child is unable to speak and comprehend the English language (Home Language survey must be completed), or
- Child is economically disadvantaged (meets federal income guidelines, documented foster child, or Food Stamp case number).
- Child who's parent is currently in military service or has served and is disabled or died.
Kindergarten:
- The child must be five on or before September 1st.
Special Education:
- Special education services are available for children who have a disability and are three or older. Eligibility is determined by standardized evaluation and a district team decision. If you have concerns regarding your child's development, call (979) 864-8695.
IMMUNIZATIONS
IMMUNIZATION RECORDS MUST SHOW ACTUAL MONTH, DAY, AND YEAR OF EACH VACCINE ADMINISTERED.
Immunization requirements for Angleton elementary schools consist of the following:
- OPV OR IPV (Polio) - A minimum of three (3) polio doses with the last dose received on or after the 4th birthday.
- DPT (Tetanus/Diphtheria) - At least four (4) doses of DTP/DTaP, DT and /or TD vaccine are required with the last dose received on or after the fourth (4th) birthday.
- MEASLES - All students five (5) years and older who are born on or after September 2, 1991, are required to show proof of two (2) doses of measles vaccine administered on or after the 1st birthday and at least 30 days apart or provide serologic confirmation of measles immunity or serologic evidence of infection.
- RUBELLA - All children must have received rubella vaccine on or after their 1st birthday, or provide serologic confirmation of rubella immunity or serologic evidence of infection.
- MUMPS - All children must have received rubella vaccine on or after their 1st birthday, or provide serologic confirmation of mumps immunity or serologic evidence of infection.
- A statement signed and dated by a physician licensed to practice in the U.S. stating that a child has serologic confirmation of measles or mumps disease may be accepted in lieu of the vaccine.
- TB SKIN TEST - Required only for students entering from developing countries.
- HEPATITIS B - Three (3) doses of Hepatitis B vaccine are required for all students born on or after September 2, 1992.
- HAEMOPHILUS INFLUENZA (Hib) - For children through 4 years old, one (1) dose of Hib vaccine on or after 15 months of age unless a schedule for a primary series and booster was completed prior to or at 15 months of age.
- VARICELLA (Chicken Pox) - Children born on or after September 2, 1994 must have one (1) dose of varicella vaccine received on or after the 1st birthday or serologic proof of immunity or documentation of previous illness.
- HEPATITIS A - Two (2) doses required for Pre-K (at least 6 months apart)
- PNEUMOCOCCAL (PVC7) - Series or one (1) after 1st birthday for children 2-59 months of age. (Pre-K)
EACH STUDENT MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS TO REMAIN IN SCHOOL. |
