Special Education at ECC  
 

Our school provides trained personnel and adequate facilities for teaching pupils who have disabilities that meet TEA eligibility criteria.

SPEECH THERAPY

Speech therapy personnel will conduct lessons for pupils who have major speech difficulties and those with language comprehension difficulties, due to hearing loss and other causes, if they meet eligibility criteria as speech impaired.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

A self-contained class designed for high concentration and reinforcement of basic skills in language arts and math.  The special education teacher and classroom teacher plan and conduct instructional activities to meet the child's needs.

A.I.S.D. SCREENING FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION

Parents who have noticed that a child has a speech problem or is learning slower than his peers should call the Special Education Department at 864-8693 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The program is part of public education and is provided at no cost to the parents.
