HAPPY NEW YEAR and WELCOME BACK!
Our Spring semester is beginning early with a Show Choir
Retreat on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Show Choir students are to
report to the AHS Choir Room at 1pm for team-building activities
and will end the evening at 8:30p after an interesting Murder
Mystery Game! Members will receive their scripts and some
musical selections for the upcoming Murder Mystery Dinner
Theatre!

The Spring semester also highlights our most competitive
portion of the school year. EVERY student will need to be
eligible in order to compete in any UIL event! We will begin with
UIL Solo & Ensemble contest on Feb. 24 hosted here at AHS,
move on to UIL Concert and Sightreading contest on March 28-29 and
then conclude our competitions with the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble
competition in late May. Of course, we will have numerous concerts during
the Spring beginning with our MEN OF ANGLETON concert in January.
ALL MEN(fathers, grandfathers, coaches, teachers, uncles, youth ministers, etc)
who love to sing are invited to our one rehearsal on Jan. 18 in
preparation for our upcoming concert. More info will follow
about that.

The Women of Angleton HS have been invited to sing at Baylor University
on March 1. We will have more information about that concert opportunity
as we receive it.

Continue to check here for updates. We put new things on here each week!
Thank you for sharing your children with us and THEIR gift of music!

GREAT Christmas concert!
MANY thanks to all who participated in
the Christmas tree auction and the pre-concert
silent auction. Here's a breakdown from our
Booster club president about the auction proceeds:
Freshman tree - purchased by the Durflingers for $250.00
Sophomore tree - purchased by the Sheltons and Bradleys for $250.00
Junior tree - purchased by Minnie Serbantez of Minnie's Day Care for $400.00
Jeff Gonzales matched the Junior tree purchase and gave a donation of $400.00
Senior tree - purchased by Susie Vasek for $1,100.00
Glider swing was purchased by Kenton Dietch for $150.00

All of the above money goes to the scholarship fund - $2,250.00!

I think that we made between $350-$400 on the silent auction.
That money goes into the choir general fund.
Thanks, too, to all who bought items! We give scholarships to
graduating seniors as well as current AHS students who attend
summer university choir camps.
