Classroom Rules and Procedures

ENTERING THE CLASSROOM

Walk quietly to your assigned desk, have a seat, and get your supplies ready for class.

Turn in your homework assignment if you did not turn it in the previous day.

Work the warm-up assignment that is written on the board.

Keep your completed warm-up on your desk and read your library book until I begin class.

CONDUCT

Conduct conducive to learning is expected.  Inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.

        Pens, Highlighters, and Colored Pencils

TEXTBOOK

Each student will be issued a science textbook which may be left in the classroom if not needed for homework.  You are responsible for taking care of the book and the cover provided.  Fees will be charged for loss or damage to the book.

GRADE SHEET

You will be given a grade sheet each six weeks to record your grades.  This will go in your brads and your graded papers will go behind it.  Keeping your grade sheet up to date and keeping your folder organized will help you with quizzes.  At the end of the six weeks I will check your grade sheet.  If it is completed accurately, you will receive bonus points towards daily assignments and tests.

PLANNER

Every day you are required to write assignments from the board in your planner.  You must write with pen in your planner.

ASSIGNMENTS

You will have an independent assignment in class almost every day.

Assignments that are not completed in class are homework and must be turned in at the beginning of class the following day.

Homework codes will be given for incomplete homework assignments.  You will be written up for your third homework code, and each one thereafter.  You will also have to fill out a "Homework Notice" that needs to be signed by your parent and returned the following day.

Late assignments cannot receive a grade higher than a 70.

Work must be neat.  If I cannot read it, it is wrong.

PROJECTS

In Science we will do several projects.  You will receive a handout outlining the project's criteria.  This handout will need to be signed by your parent/guardian at least one week prior to the due date.

MAKE-UP WORK

You are responsible for completing all work if you are absent.

Make-up work folders are located on the wall at the front of the room next to the calendar.

If you are present the day you receive an assignment and are absent the day it is due, the assignment should be turned in the day you return or it will be considered late.
