About PLAY
Preschool Language Acquisition by Youngsters meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:45 to 10:45 at the Early Childhood Campus. The class is taught by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist and assisted by a Communication Assistant.

The children chosen to participate in the PLAY program are between the ages of 3 and 5 with identified speech and language impairments. An Admissions, Review and Dismissal (ARD) Committee makes the decision that this program best meets the needs of the individual child. Each student in PLAY has an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) developed by the ARD committee with goals and objectives based on their specific needs. The number of students in the class changes throughout the year as additional children qualify for the program.

Speech and Language activities are provided through children's literature, music and structured play. Topic units include: Back to School, All About Me, Farms and Farm Animals, Fall/Thanksgiving, 5 Senses and Christmas, Winter, Community Helpers, Transportation, Spring/Bugs, Zoo, Under the Sea. |
