Ms. Garmon's Classroom Page

In our Living Skills classroom we work in various vocational centers.  Students learn how to perform tasks related to cooking, cleaning, office skills, future job functions, communication, money math, and adult daily living. Students also learn appropriate rec & leisure activities that can be utilized in a job setting.

Once a week we go out into the community for various activities which include: grocery shopping at Kroger, eating out at local restaurants, and visiting area businesses.

The last two periods of class on Fridays are  PAY DAY. Students work hard all week long and on Fridays are "paid." They can use their "pay" to purchase various rewards.  Students learn about the value of money and hard work.

We will soon be selling WildCat Spirit Buttons that are handmade by our students. All the proceeds go towards our community outings. By selling buttons our students also learn how to operate a cash register, handle  money and  meet and greet fellow classmates.
