Welcome to Mrs. Care Shankle's Class
I have been teaching for 20+ years. I enjoy reacting with children of all ages. I have taught 1st grade for 23 years, 4th grade for 2 years and am now in 1st grade again teaching at Rancho Elementary.
Teaching children how to read and grow during their process of doing this, I become awed and amazed each year. I recommend reading with your child each evening. It can be such a reward for both of you.
I enjoy teaching math skills and watching each child become aware of how math works in the real world.
All other subjects such as art, Science and Social Studies are important also. These skills endow your child the ability to work well in their future as good citizens of our society.
I am thrilled to be at Rancho and back in 1st grade. If you need me, e-mail me at cshankle@angletonisd.net. I will get back to you asap.
Here is a little about me:
My husband, Richard, and I have lived in the area since 1982 and I grew up in Lake Jackson. We have two grown children, Beverly and Philip. We have one grandson, Cameron, and one granddaughter, Michelle. We have a blond, short-legged dog named Scooter and a tri-colored Rat Terrier named Lady. They are like our own children. We have a 25 foot boat with it's own dock and house on the San Bernard river. And Richard and I learned to ride motorcycles 5 1/2 years ago. I don't know what took us so long. We have been to Canada and many U. S. cities on them. I even ride my motorcycle to school sometimes. |
