It seems I took the scenic route to arrive at AHS. After earning my Bachelor of Arts in Radio / Television Communication with a minor in English from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1995, I spent five years at a major television network doing everything from answering phones to writing and voicing commercials. Once I finally realized what I truly wanted to do was teach, I returned to SFA to earn my certification in Secondary English.

I began teaching English at AHS in 2001, and have since earned additional certifications in Speech and ESL. I have grown to love my job - and my students - more with each passing year.

My husband Derek and I have been married for seventeen years. We have one son, two dogs (Mel and Teddy), and a cat (Marge) who believes she runs the household.
