NOVEMBER

 Texas Music Educators Association           added 10/14/09

1.        Scholarships for undergraduate music majors range from $2,000-$2,500

2.       Application information available at www.tmea.org

3.       Application deadline is November 15, 2009

 

 

DECEMBER

Hispanic Scholarship Fund        added 9/17/09

1.        Be of Hispanic heritage (most programs)

2.       Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

3.       Be a US citizen or permanent resident

4.       Plan to enroll as a FULL-TIME student in

the fall of 2010

5.  Several scholarships are available at this site

            6.   Apply online at Hispanic Scholarship Fund

            7.   VARYING deadlines beginning December 15, 2009

 

 

JANUARY

The Gates Millennium Scholars           added 9/17/09

1.        Be of African American, American Indian/Alaska Native,

Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American heritage

2.       Have a minimum GPA of 3.3 on 4.0 scale

3.       Demonstrate leadership skills

4.       Significant financial need

5.   Apply online at Gates Millenium Scholars

6.   Application deadline is January 11, 2010, 11:59 p.m. EST

 

Texas Student Housing                  added 10/6/09

 

1.        Must be a graduating senior

2.       Must be planning to attend college in Austin, College Station or Denton, Texas

3.       Applications are available in the counselors' office

4.       Postmark deadline is January 31, 2010

 

Imagine America Scholarships       added 10/13/09

1.        Available to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a career college

2.       Scholarship award amount is $1,000

3.       Must graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or higher

4.       Financial need is considered

5.       Demonstrate volunteer service during senior year

6.       Application information is available online at www.imagineamerica.org

7.       Application window opens January 1, 2010

 

FEBRUARY

KFC's Colonel Scholars                     added 10/19/09

1.        Must be a graduating senior

2.       Maintaining a GPA of 2.75 or higher

3.       Planning to enroll in a public, in-state college by September 2010

4.       Must be a U.S citizen

5.       Application online from December 1, 2009 to February 10, 2010

6.       Applications available at www.kfcscholars.org

 

National Co-Op Scholarship             added 9/17/09

1.        Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on 4.0 scale

2.       Complete all admissions applications and be accepted at

one of the National Commission Partner Institution

3.       Apply at  National Co-Op Scholarship

4.       Application deadline is February 15, 2010

5.       EARLY APPLICATIONS ARE RECOMMENDED

 

MARCH

The Power of Life Essay Contest                     added 11/3/09

1.        Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5

2.       Essay is required

3.       Application available online at www.giveblood.org/scholarship

4.       Application deadline is March 1, 2010

 

Texas Art Scholarship sponsored by the Goss-Michael Foundation        added 11/03/09

1.        Merit based scholarship

2.       Award amount $5,000

3.       Application to include a typed essay, typed artist's statement

 and a CD of 10 original works

4.       Must pursue a degree in visual arts

5.       Applications available in the counselors' office

6.       Application deadline is March 31, 2010
