Dear Parent or Guardian:
In recent weeks, we have worked hard to keep you apprised of a frightening situation occurring in town, sending two letters home with your child advising you that Northside Elementary students had twice reported that while walking home from school, three young men had attempted to lure or coerce them into a white car near campus.
Yesterday afternoon, three Angleton High School students were implicated in the incident that occurred on March 30. We have reasons to believe that the same high school students may have been involved in the incident that occurred earlier in March as well. Because of federal privacy laws, Angleton ISD may not release the identities of these students or discuss the disciplinary consequences they will face within our system; however, I will inform you that AISD refers any and all accusations of serious criminal activities to local law enforcement for investigation and any formal prosecution that may be warranted.
Your child's safety is our primary concern. We are dedicated to doing everything we can to protect your child. I am hopeful that we are through with this troubling episode; however, it remains important that you and your children continue to review the safety tips that were provided to you in prior letters. For your convenience, you will find those tips on the reverse side of this document. Rest assured, we will remain ever vigilant in our efforts to keep your child safe and secure while in our care.
With love of your children,
Heath Burns |
