The Texas Education Agency is operating a toll-free hotline to assist parents and educators meet the needs of students evacuated from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama due to Hurricane Katrina. The toll-free hotline number is 800-957-5109. The 800 number will also be in operation Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Additionally, the Texas Education Agency has established a special webpage with Frequently Asked Questions documents for parents and educators. We thank the Regional Education Service Center 4 for developing the Parent FAQ. The webpage includes email addresses for retired Texas teachers who are interested in helping with teaching needs, and individuals inquiring about donating school supplies.
